My role at the ATO is varied in the skillsets required, however my primary role is to contribute to the high performance agile team. Within the team, I endeavor to share and upskill my colleagues as well as learn and upskill myself to ensure as a collective we deliver client value at every stage.
Working at the ATO has given me the opportunity to flex my design skills both as a front end developer and as a designer. On any given day, I could be building prototypes, iterating products with users, designing services or facilitating co-design workshops with clients.
Since starting at the ATO, I have taken advantage of as many learning opportunities as possible, the most recent of which was becoming a DSS assessor. Further, I have joined the Brisbane Agile in Government Cohort and regularly attend meetups to contribute to the broader conversation of agile framework uptake within all levels of government.
I am very passionate about improving digital services for users and thoroughly enjoy the challenges and opportunities in this space.
Kook
2015-2019
Kook is a web company based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. At Kook I settled into a dual role where I’d spend 50% of my day executing web design work, with the other 50% of my day spent executing digital marketing campaigns for our clients. While I enjoyed both of these roles thoroughly, I gravitated towards the web design component of my role.
As I developed my web design skills, my passion for design flourished as well. I found myself opting to transfer to full time design work within the first year of my time at Kook. From then, my design confidence accelerated. I also found that my experience with organic search and digital search complimented and informed the strategy behind the design of the sites I was producing.
With feedback from my design director and clients, I have come to be very experienced at producing quality websites that both meet modern, creative and engaging design standards, as well as marketable, effective sites that produce conversions and sales.
Videopro
2007 – 2015
I started my career with Videopro in the Sony Clearance Centre retail store. While there I maintained profitable sales figures for both myself and the company and built a substantial customer database.
After 3 years, the company established an ecommerce presence, which I applied and successfully became involved with. I maintained the Videopro website, while being thoroughly involved in web development, sales administration, digital content generation, SEM and general maintenance through their content management system.
In 2013 I was promoted to the Marketing team, where I took over EDM distribution for Videopro, while still maintaining my web development and digital strategy projects. Since adopting this role I have redesigned the email style guide, dramatically increasing engagement, reporting on key metrics including click through and open rates. Furthermore, I have project managed several upgrades to Videopro’s existing ecommerce store as well as project managing the creation and development of their Business solutions ‘Brochure’ style website. Throughout my time with Videopro I have developed extremely close bonds with both staff and management. I am extremely confident in my role and regularly report to the sales director, retail operations manager and CEO.
I worked as a Marketing Coordinator, looking after digital strategy and web development. My portfolio of tasks included project management, Web development, SEO, SEM, EDM generation and distribution, Social Media management, event planning and management, press and media advertising and plenty of other marketing tasks for both the bricks and mortar retail stores, online store and business solutions departments.
